At Wold & Weaver, we're always looking for new places to wander, often with a coffee in hand and a four-legged companion leading the way. These are a few of our favourite walks to return to throughout the year, each offering its own unique charm, beautiful scenery and a reminder that some of life's simplest moments are often the most rewarding.
Lacock
Many of the photographs you'll see across our website were captured around Lacock, a village we return to time and time again. Its quiet lanes, rolling countryside and timeless charm perfectly capture the spirit of Wold & Weaver, making it one of our favourite places for a countryside walk.
Steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Lacock is one of those places that always feels peaceful. Wander through the National Trust village before exploring the surrounding footpaths, where you'll find open fields, riverside walks and plenty of spots to pause and enjoy the view.
Castle Combe Circular
Often described as one of England's prettiest villages, Castle Combe is even more magical when explored on foot. Leave the village behind and follow the surrounding footpaths through open fields, peaceful woodland and gentle countryside before returning for a well-earned coffee.
Broadway Tower
For far-reaching views across the Cotswolds, Broadway Tower is hard to beat. The surrounding parkland offers several walking routes, from leisurely loops to longer countryside rambles, making it a wonderful place to visit whatever the season.
Dyrham Park
Nestled between Bath and the Cotswolds, Dyrham Park offers peaceful walks through rolling parkland, ancient woodland and open deer-filled landscapes. Follow the winding paths past centuries-old trees before taking in the views across the surrounding countryside. It's a wonderful place for a slower pace, especially in spring when wildflowers begin to bloom or on crisp autumn mornings beneath the changing leaves.
Westonbirt Arboretum
A favourite throughout the year, Westonbirt is especially beautiful in autumn when the trees are transformed into rich shades of gold, amber and crimson. Wide, accessible paths make it an enjoyable walk for everyone, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery.
